Before you go for all those monotonous and hard working link-building and SEO stuffs you must remind yourself once again about your Goal. Your goal is to gain places in the first pages of various search engines including Google for your targeted keywords. That’s it. You do not need huge page rank or huge number of backlinks (most of which is spam) unless you get places for your target keywords.

Perhaps you already have realized why I am saying so. Obviously there are lots of websites with high page rank and millions of backlinks but no SERP rankings. They simply don’t show up in the first result pages. Although there are no differences in techniques but there are major differences in approaches! That is why I am saying “authentic way”. However actually there is no such way. Here I simply want to say about making your site, links, social hypes, articles, blogs – every thing to look authentic. And to do so you need to absolutely be cautious about your templates each pixel to your contents each spelling. Even while link building or, posting comments on others blogs – you should not use duplicate content or just spam. After all the content is the king.

Before digging deep here I am going to discus about common steps every SEO takes for his/her sites. And letter I will discuss how to make those monotonous common steps invaluable and interesting.

At first every promising site starts with its dream, its goal. The reality is most of them fails. A vary simple reason is behind of every failure. All of their owners lack of their motivation. Using CMSs can give you immense freedom in managing contents and maintenance. I will recommend you to use Joomla! If your site is a business website and not a blog. You may ask what if it is a blog? I thing you know the answer – WordPress. Next you need to choose the right components or plug-ins to manage metatags, sitemaps, seo friendly urls, canonical url, breadcrumbs links, outgoing links etc. So, you or, your seo service provider needs to understand from how to create an html link to css tricks of visible/invisible texts to php redirects to what is going on within your Linux server. All these things are important. You also need to make sure backing up your whole site. Unconsciously you can make mistakes. So, better be careful.

Why? Because blogs are happening places. With continuous fresh contents and new search engine visitors a blog is really a more important place than directories on the net.
So, do follow links from blog comments are valuable.

At first go to Google blog search then go to advanced blog search. It is a form for your advanced blog search.

Fill the second field called "With the exact phrase:" with "your keywords", "remember my personal information", "notify me of following comments", "keyword luv".
Now, go to the 7th field named "at this url:" and fill with .edu or .org etc to find .edu blogs.

That's it. Just search now and you will get the results. Although it is not guaranteed that all blogs will be a do follow. But this search queries do help to find do follow blogs. Just try and you will understand.
Lastly as I promised here is the names of blog finder software. They are "Fast Blog Finder", "G-lock Blog Finder" and there are some others. But I think you do not need these software anymore.

The answer is yes and no. If I try to summaries the answer than it will be, “Links from free directories with quality contents are good and links from paid directories who tries to flow PageRank/anchortext are bad.”

Here is what Matt Cutts says, “when I say “paid links” it’s pretty safe to add in your head “paid links that flow PageRank and attempt to game Google’s rankings.” ”

Aaron Wall and Andy Hagans clarified Bad Ways to Build Links in this way, “Submit your site to 200 cheesy paid directories (averaging $15 a pop) that send zero traffic and sell offtopic run-of-site links.”

Now what about free directory submission? Please read this, “Directory submission can still be very useful regardless of what people tell you. If it wasn't, there wouldn't be directories. The directories help with back links and provide authority and link popularity to a site. It is imperative that you submit your site to the proper category; otherwise you run the risk of wasting your time by not being accepted. So if you aren't going to do it right, don't do it at all. Now we have understood what Google thinks about directory submission. But, what about Yahoo and Bing? The matter is Yahoo is not strict to any kind of directory(paid or free) links.
